Kindergarten football~dribbling,passing,shooting,exercise

Kindergarten

General

  • Become accustomed to playing with others
  • Have fun
  • Follow play without being with the ball (advancing beyond the “swarm”)
  • Only rule: ball out of bounds – ball goes over any of the field’s boundaries (end and touch lines).  A coach should quickly kick the ball back into play to ensure continuity of play.

Dribbling Skill Development

  • Forward dribbling --Features to encourage:
  • Ball should touch lace area of shoes, toes naturally down as when running without a ball
  • Keep the ball close enough to be able to stop or turn it easily Have the ball close to the feet when going slow, farther out when going fast
  • Try dribbling with both left and right foot

Passing Skill Development

Push pass using the inside of the foot
  • Look for team-mate to pass to
  • Plant left foot next to the ball – the toes point in the direction the ball is going to go
  • As right foot strikes the ball, toes should point up thus providing a solid club-like surface.  The foot strikes the ball in the centre to keep the ball on the ground.

Shooting on goal

  • Use laces
  • The foot should continue moving all the way through the ball, driving the foot through the ball

Exercises / Drills

Games like tag, Red-light / Green-light, Simon Says, with a ball thrown in work well along with the many teaching games at http://www.soccermadesimple.com
